Keyword density analysis
There are many links to online keyword analysis tools around the net, but most provide quiet basic feedback, or require a subscription (per uri) to gain a more detailed assessment. The links below provide a good level of capabilities free of charge, so are a good place to start.
- Ranks.nl Spider
- Highly configurable keyword analyser. It allows you to customise the stop words and poison words, to set target keyword density range, and many other options.
- Motoricerca Keyword Density Analyser
- Less extensive and less configurable than Ranks.NL, but returns interesting results in a more compact form. Another good first port of call.
Page weight
The following links are to tools that will measure the ‘page weight’ of the supplied uri, and report this as a breakdown by various criteria, including code, content (text) and graphics. The tools listed return different results, reflecting the fact that measuring page weight is an inexact art/science. Differeneces seem to be based upon how each tool treats the various attributes to (x)html tags, for example whether ‘title’, or ‘alt’ gets treated as code or content. Differences aside, the measurements obtained are useful feedback and provide indications of where there may be some room for improvements within a design.

- Useful tool that allows you to see the Page Rank of all links in the specified page. The result lets you run the linked pages through the same ‘Page Rank viewer’, or to visit the page normally.
